Barrett Jackson is known as one of the premier auction houses in the USA. Ford is going to auction off the first GT500 and all money will go to charity. The auction is set for January 17, 2015 in Scottsdale, Arizona. Proceeds will benefit JDRF, which funds Type 1 diabetes research.
“The all-new Shelby GT350 is a thrilling, world-class car,” said Steve Ling, North America car marketing manager for Ford, in a statement. “From the all-new independent suspension — a first for a Shelby, to the powerful engine and superb brakes, this car is simply amazing. Just as the Shelby GT350 did in 1965, we expect this new-generation pony car to demonstrate Ford Motor Company continues to lead the world in innovation and performance.”
With the history of the Mustang and Shelby we would imagine this car will blow the roof off the auction house. So if you are looking for a new Shelby GT500 and want the money to go to a great cause then be sure to mark your calender for the January 17th auction in Scottsdale.
